Happy Halloween

Cowboy Keeler's off to his preschool costume party.  After telling us for months that he wanted to be fire chief he changed his mind YESTERDAY on what he wanted to be.  At least we can pull off a cowboy pretty easy!
This afternoon the little cowboys came to our main street's Trick-or-Treat Trail.  I was working the John Deere station (as a farmer of course).
Our little sock monkey HATED his hat. :)
Tonight we plan on attending a couple church Halloween events, stop by a couple family/friend’s houses to trick-or-treat and then back home to pass out candy.  Happy Halloween!

Tolan and Brittney Engagement Photos

Congratulations Tolan and Brittney!  Tolan is my husband’s cousin and Brittney is my co-worker and sweet friend.  After Brittney saw the pictures I recently took of Heather & Paul, she asked that I take their engagement pictures.  I was flattered and felt so honored.  They are both absolutely beautiful - inside & out.  I keep telling Brittney they are going to have some gorgeous babies someday! :)

Cozy Weekend

Just a quick post of our weekend highlights.
We woke up to it snowing on Friday morning. This made it hard to want to go to work.  But when I got there the snow made for an awesome picture for our upcoming winter newsletter.
Friday evening our neighbor Cristen and her cousin came over and asked if I would do their hair and makeup for their Halloween dance.  Well, of course!! I just love being involved in these little ladies lives.
On Saturday,  Keeler went on his first date with these two ladies and Bailey's older sister.  We were so nervous about how he would do but we let him go and held our breath.  When they got home at 9:30p they carried him up to the door and said he fell asleep within the first ten minutes of the movie, ha!
Tyler kept the fireplace going almost all weekend.  It was so cozy.
He has two big helpers!  Kallahan actually carried this log all the way to Tyler from the sliding glass door.  He loves to bring us stuff and is surprising me how well he will follow through with a request.
I just love this time of year.  We get to see more of daddy since things at the farm are slowing down.  The outside chores slow down and it makes for great family time. :)
It's also been nice to have Tyler home in the evenings because I can get some running in.  18 miles this week!!  I registered for a turkey trot on Thanksgiving with my sister and her in-laws today!
                                                                          So sweet!
A weekend at home wouldn't be complete without a little lot of housework.  I am up way too late because I have been editing pictures of Tyler's handsome cousin and his beautiful bride-to-be.  I can't wait to share.
Have a great week!

Gator Give-Away

Well, it’s official, I have now completely roped both my little cowboys into my marketing world!  Our dealership is going to be giving away 10 John Deere Gators for Christmas.  One of my radio reps comped us radio ads and purchased one of the 10 Gators for our locations to giveaway as a thank you for all our business.    She actually had the idea that I use the little cowboys in the ads.  She is so fun & I just love working with her.  To all my local friends:  the promo starts November 1st!
So, here is my latest project.  I wanted to blog about it – to look back on when they get older.  My blog is pretty much going to be their scrapbooks.  Hopefully this will make you smile as much as it does me! :)

Keeler cutting his first radio ad!  He's a pro.
Hear them below (they are the voice overs only - music will be added):

13 months old.

My baby cowboy is 13 months old.  We have out grown sticky pickies which means the monthly update posts are less “mandatory” but I still want to keep track of this little guy.  It seems within the past couple days he has changed so much.  He has been walking for over a month but little boy (not baby) mannerisms are more present daily.  He loves to play.  He loves to be outside – in the dirt.  He knows what he wants and where he is going.  He thinks he is big stuff!  We are finding it humorous because he is still such a little guy.
These little boots are priceless.  They were given to my husband when he was a baby by his late grandfather (his absolute idol).  Keeler wore them and now Kal is sporting them.  And boy does he love them.  They are the only shoes he doesn't seem to fight wearing.  Already a little cowboy?!
We still aren't talking much at all...but we have started pointing which
helps with communication  #anythingisbetterthanscreaming

The weather this weekend was perfect.  I took pictures for friends which I need to be editing but I couldn't resist working on Granny & I’s impromptu photo-shoot of Kal first.  We decided to take his pictures because we were simply bored since Keeler & Tyler were at the farm ‘til late.  They were preg-checking cattle.  Keeler stayed out at the farm all day.  Tyler said he did great.  Keeler has been talking about their adventure all weekend!  How much he really understands I have no idea. :)

Picnic / Hat Day

Keeler is back loving school!  We had a few days recently where he was crying when I dropped him off.  I think going in the afternoon has been an adjustment since he was still napping.  Granny says most days he still takes a little nap after-school.   Luckily I think we are in the routine of things and doing well.
Today is a special day at school – it’s picnic and hat day.  All week Keeler has been talking about it.  “What’s it going to be like mom?  Did you have a picnic at school when you were a little girl? Etc…”
I asked Keeler what he wanted to take in his lunch.  His response:  “A cheese sandwich, a cheese stick, a banana and a juice.”   Sounded like a good choice, a bit cheesy, but this morning I packed up his lunch.  It felt like a milestone:  our first school lunch.   My baby is growing up too fast!!
I can’t wait to hear all about his special day!
This is the:  "Okay mom, enough with the pictures face."

Liebster Blog Award

Yay! I was nominated for a Liebster Blog Award.
Wait. What's that?
Glad you asked :)

It means someone think I have a noteworthy blog.  Thanks Anne!

This award is given to those bloggers with less than 200 followers and who deserve a recognition and support to keep on blogging. This is also some sort of a way to increase number of followers. So here are the rules:

1. You have to list 11 things about yourself.
2. Answer the questions sent to you from the person who nominated you.
3. Choose up to 11 bloggers that you follow with less than 200 followers.
4. Go to your nominees page and inform them of the award.
5. Make 11 questions for your nominees.
6. You cannot tag back.

These are 11 things about me.
1.  I love to shop…to a fault.  There is nothing like wearing a new outfit.  My mom use to tease and say I needed disposable clothes b/c most time I would wear them once and then move on.
2.  I met my dreamy cowboy hubby at Sonic.  Yes, Sonic.  We were both there getting drinks with friends.  His friend rolled down his window and asked for my number…the rest is history!
3.  I love to jog.  I am back in gear and have ran over 17 miles in the past week.
4.  My biggest fear are mice.  Just ask my hubby!
5.  I got “best dressed” in high school – see that shopping addiction pays off, ha!
6.  I graduated college in 3 ½ years.  Looking back, why was I in such a hurry to grow up and work?!
7.  My favorite TV show is “Big Brother.”  I can’t get enough.  Thankfully it only comes on once a year.
8.  I started teaching preschool Sunday school this year.  Best.Job.Ever.  I absolutely love teaching young children about our amazing God!!
9.  My first job was mowing my church lawn at 16.
10.  I eat a cup of dry cereal daily.  Gluten free Chex™ are my current obsession.  Why no milk, I don't care for it and this saves me calories!  I get my calcium from a supplement.
11.  I loved playing “paper” as a young girl.  My sister & I would spend hours cutting out people and house/interior rooms out of magazines.  Then we would line up our ideal houses (living room, kitchen, bedrooms, etc…) and play all day.  Such cheap entertainment!

Here are the blogs that I nominate:
Here are the questions for me:
1.  If you have $1 Million and you can only spend it for one day, what will you buy?
I would pay off all our debt.  I would go ahead and pay for both my son’s college (we’ll pretend that’s possible this far in advance).  I would give both my parents and in-laws a hefty thank you cash gift...they have helped us a lot over the years!  I would then go and buy something that would hold its value well (art work, a house, etc..) for the plan to sell and then get that cash back!  So mommy could eventually retire :)
2.  Who is your childhood superhero?
I guess it’d be some Carebear
3.  What is your all-time favorite movie?
“Shag” with Phoebe Cates.
4.  Name 5 things that you can't live without.
Faith, My Cowboys, Cereal, Music and Money!
5.  Do you believe in ghost?
Not in scary ghosts, but I do believe in spirits
6.  What is your most embarrassing moment?
Wearing a shirt inside out to dinner on a date in high school.  It was then pointed out in the  bathroom by female classmates of my boyfriend.
7.  What is on your purse at this moment? Name 5 things.
Debit card, lip gloss, check book, flash drive, library card (I carry a little bitty clutch that holds very little and throw it in the diaper bag)
8.  What is your dream car?
I always wanted a Toyota 4-Runner & now I have one!!  Luxury wise – a Lexus
9.  When was the last time you cried?
I almost teared up Friday at nephew’s pep rally---just thinking about how quickly our babies are growing up.
10.  Who is the most important person in your life?
God
11.  Describe yourself in one word.
Original

Here are the questions I have for you:
1.  How long have you been blogging and what made you start?
2.  What is your dream job?
3.  Would you rather be a bird or a fish and why?
4.  What is the best gift you've ever received?
5.  All time favorite beauty product?
6.  What do you want to be for Halloween this year?
7.  Name something you can't go a day without doing.
8.  If you were given the keys to a time machine, where would you go and why?
9.  Do you prefer blue or black ink?
10.  What's the last thing you regretted buying?
11.  If you could trade lives with anyone, who would it be?

Now it's your turn. Have fun!

Busy Weekends

Life has been crazy the past few weeks.  My apologies for the lack of post but I am just trying to catch my breath!  Prepare yourself for a long post and tons a pictures because we have some catching up to do.
The weekend before last our family ventured to Texas to help my sister decorate after she moved into her new home.  It is beautiful.  I am so jealous...media room, game room, beautiful hardwood floors - the works!  She plans on doing a before and after post on her blog soon so I will definitely share!
We also went to celebrate my father-in-law’s 60th birthday.  My mother-in-law threw him a great surprise party…and boy was he surprised.  It was an adult party, which is rare in our family, so my sister was so sweet to watch our little cowboys.  They did great and we enjoyed the adult time, perhaps a bit too much! :)  We had dinner at my in-laws house and then went out dancing.  Jim loves to dance so he was on cloud nine.  This man hates birthdays and anything to do with aging but I actually heard him say, “this is the best birthday party ever!!”  We all just love Jim-dad and had fun celebrating with him.
My apologies for the goofiness but we don’t get out much!

Pam made Jim the sweetest memory book covering his 60 years...he loved it!

Gift time!

Wowwwww Jim!!!

We made fun of Jim for constantly getting into everyone's bubble and making them uncomfortable, so....
We got into his bubble! :)
Happy 60th Jim!!
---------------
On Sunday we celebrated uncle Tim's 29th birthday!
Oh, what fun!
 -----------------
This past weekend we went back to Texas, phew!  I went for work on Friday but then in the afternoon I got to see my nephew off for his first homecoming.  This is him and his DATE...how cute are they?!

On Saturday the little cowboys and I went to a funeral with my mom.  My mom's 94 year-old uncle passed away.  It was nice seeing relatives that we rarely see.  The little cowboys have been in the car A LOT over the past two weeks but have done so well.  When we got home yesterday afternoon Tyler had cleaned the house and made dinner.  I am such a lucky girl.
This little cowboy was happy to be home because he had some work to do...the kitchen drawers were far too tidy while we were gone. :)
