It's become somewhat of a tradition that we host an annual St. Patrick's Day party. Since the holiday was on a Monday this year, I asked my parents and my sister's family to come up the weekend before so we could celebrate on Saturday.
The weekend before the little cowboy's and I started preparing. I love to decorate the mantle so when I found this burlap/shamrock banner at Hobby Lobby it was a must. I also picked up the pot of gold sign. I still wanted to add to my decor but finding St. Patrick's decor is not easy in a small town. I was inspired by Andrea's post and her decorations so I decided to have the boys help me make a rainbow out of M&Ms in a hurricane - items we could pick up locally.
I was shocked how well Kal was able to help!
All our family arrived this past Friday. In the evening our weather was perfect. Jarret and my dad took the kids to play baseball while Samantha and I went running. After running 3 miles (go us!) we all went to play tennis. Jakob and I are currently undefeated tennis champs and make quite the pair! #goteamKelKob (yep, I named our awesome duo)
Saturday morning we all got dressed in our green and started out St. Patty's Saturday!
Complete with fun crafts...
and lots of yummy food!
We made Leprechaun Chow and this little Leprechaun approved.
Recipe found here.
Our dinner was themed of course:
Brats and/or steaks, green mac & cheese, green mashed potatoes, salad with green ranch and shamrock rice crispy treats. Yum!
Natalie and her family came and joined us for dinner. It was so good to see them and their cute little girls.
Cutest Leprechaun Baby Ever!
I love having everyone together. Here on out I'm claiming St. Patty's Day as "my holiday!" It's fuss free and all about having fun.
We ended the evening with a gun fight and it was St. Patty's Day Saturday, so it's allowed.
Closing with some St. Patty's Day selfies.
