Baby Shower for Haylee!

This past weekend my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, friend Brandi and I hosted Brittney's baby shower.  Baby Haylee will be arriving in May and since she's the first little girl on our side of the family we really enjoyed planning, shopping and everything pink!  Her nursery is going to be coral and animal print so that was the theme for the shower.
Invites by your's truly :)
I'm telling you, girly designs and events are so fun!!
Brittney glowing before everyone arrived.

b:: another hostess > I love these ladies.  We make a great team!

I made Haylee's letters and banner to match her nursery.
We kept the shower food pretty simple since it was early afternoon:  fruits, cookies, tea and pink lemonade.
I called on my favorite baking enthusiast, Anne, The Pink Momma to make our cookies.
She made these darling cookies.  They were so pretty no one wanted to eat them!  But we did and they were delicious.
We also covered water bottle labels with leopard duct tape and added a pink ribbon.
We played one game.  I found a similar template to this one on Etsy but dressed it up with leopard to fit our theme.  It was easy to play with our large crowd.
At one point there were close to 70 poeple in my house!  It was a great turnout.
We handed out nail polish to the top 5 winners of our game.
Baby Haylee is already so spoiled!  It took Brit about an hour and half to open all the gifts.
I can't wait to go over and dress baby Haylee up in some of her darling clothes.
Thanks to everyone that helped make the shower a success!
Congrats again Brittney and Tolan, xoxo

I have to add, we LOVED having Mimi, Tiffany and her boys stay with us over the weekend.
We all think pajama parties are the best!

Spring Break!

I feel terrible for my lack of posting but life has been B.U.S.Y!  Just when I think I'm getting my bearings straight then another project or something crazy is thrown my way.  I truly love it but it would be nice if time could slow down a tad.  We'll be in Vegas at this time next week and it couldn't come at a more perfect time.  We need a break!
The month of March has been a blur so I promise to go back and fill in the blog soon } for my memories' sake ;)
This week is Keeler's spring break.  We had one nice weather day yesterday (50+ mph blowing dirt on the others... seriously reliving the "Dirty 30's" around here) so I took the day off work, Tyler had a quick appointment in the city and then we spent the day enjoying the outdoors.  We we went to the zoo (rented a fab family bicycle), ate a great lunch out and then came home and played in the yard.
Happy first day of Spring!  Enjoy the photo dump:
We ended the night with Chinese take-out while watching Frozen.  Well, the boys watched the movie while mommy worked on baby shower details for a shower I'm hosting this weekend.  I just wanted to stop in and say hi.  More to come soon...

St. Patty's Day 2014

It's become somewhat of a tradition that we host an annual St. Patrick's Day party.  Since the holiday was on a Monday this year, I asked my parents and my sister's family to come up the weekend before so we could celebrate on Saturday.
The weekend before the little cowboy's and I started preparing.  I love to decorate the mantle so when I found this burlap/shamrock banner at Hobby Lobby it was a must.  I also picked up the pot of gold sign.  I still wanted to add to my decor but finding St. Patrick's decor is not easy in a small town.  I was inspired by Andrea's post and her decorations so I decided to have the boys help me make a rainbow out of M&Ms in a hurricane - items we could pick up locally.
I was shocked how well Kal was able to help!

All our family arrived this past Friday.  In the evening our weather was perfect.  Jarret and my dad took the kids to play baseball while Samantha and I went running.  After running 3 miles (go us!) we all went to play tennis.  Jakob and I are currently undefeated tennis champs and make quite the pair!  #goteamKelKob (yep, I named our awesome duo)
Saturday morning we all got dressed in our green and started out St. Patty's Saturday!
 Complete with fun crafts...
and lots of yummy food!
We made Leprechaun Chow and this little Leprechaun approved.
Recipe found here.
Our dinner was themed of course:
Brats and/or steaks, green mac & cheese, green mashed potatoes, salad with green ranch and shamrock rice crispy treats.  Yum!
Natalie and her family came and joined us for dinner.  It was so good to see them and their cute little girls.
Cutest Leprechaun Baby Ever!

I love having everyone together.  Here on out I'm claiming St. Patty's Day as "my holiday!"  It's fuss free and all about having fun.

We ended the evening with a gun fight and it was St. Patty's Day Saturday, so it's allowed.
Closing with some St. Patty's Day selfies.

Erik & Shalie's Engagement Photos

Shalie & Erik are engaged!  Shalie is my husband’s cousin.  She is such a sweet, creative and beautiful young lady.  Erik is a great guy too.  He is really down-to-earth and easy going.  They compliment each other well and spending time with them for the photos was a lot of fun.  They really make a great couple.  Remember when I did her older sister, Heather's, engagement photos?  Well, it's now Shalie's turn.
Congratulations Shalie & Erik…we are so happy for you!!
Don't you love their wedding date!
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  The snow we got on Friday evening set a beautiful backdrop for these pictures.  However, it's all melted today and our Sunday has been gorgeous - high 60's and we've been playing outside.  I'll try to do a normal blog post soon to get caught up but I'm going back to play!!
