Show and Tell Tuesday: Christmas Decor

Happy Tuesday!
Today I'm linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesdays:  Christmas Decor
I LOVE Christmas - every. single. thing about it.  It honestly is "the best time of the year."
Come on in and welcome to our home!
This is our main living area.  You'll have to excuse the clutter around - I snapped pictures with my iphone early this morning when I saw the link-up.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute.  Our mantel is always my favorite.  Under the stockings the little cowboys complete their advent calendars every morning.  Their Mimi gave them these Schleich Horse Stable and Farm sets and they've been a big hit.  They also have a standard chocolate calendar and a Bible Christmas Story calendar {I'll show that later in the post} from their Grandma.  Such good grandmothers :)
I wasn't planning to add to our decor this year but I instantly feel in LOVE with this little red truck at Target.  This year I decided we should have a theme Christmas... so naturally we're going with..."a little truck Christmas!"
We're having a lot of fun with the theme, as you can see.
This is our "big tree" in the living room.  I added the burlap bows a few years ago and still love them.  Of course all the ornaments hold special memories throughout our years.
Oh the joys!
This weekend, Tyler was a dear and took the little cowboys to the farm so I could wrap packages.  A stiff neck, two Hallmark movies complete and four hours later I was done!  It's so nice to have it complete but keeping the little cowboys from peaking has been a new challenge this year.  They're getting smarter and more sneaky :)
Next to the door we display the kid's nativity and this is our little kitchen tree.
I snapped this photo on Friday evening when our Elf on the Shelf decided to go zip-lining.  He's being a little more adventurous this year.  I use to say I didn't want a naughty elf and we just moved him around here and there but this year both the little cowboys are at such a fun age - I decided why not embrace it!  This season of life is so short, let's make the best of it.
The "Family" chalkboard on the table, this is my absolute favorite touch to this year's holiday decor.  The Saturday we were decorating, I was busy putting up other items around the house when Keeler hollers out, "mom, how do you spell family?" Later in the day my heart melted when I saw his little creation positioned in the middle of the dining room table.
We have a little mitten countdown on the basement banister along with the above mentioned Bible Christmas Story advent.  And another little truck :)
Keeler's tree in his room is a cowboy/farmer theme tree.
Kallahan said he wanted a colored tree this year... I really didn't want to go to the store once we started decorating so I told him we could make his little tree very fun!
I added some non-traditional colored ribbons to match his room  {that I already had} and this little stuffed monkey.  Him and I have "a secret" that it's our favorite tree this year.  But don't tell anyone.
We started the tradition of buying a nutcracker each year and the collection is getting pretty impressive.  Who knew nutcrackers could be so cute?!  This year we displayed them in Keeler's room.
The BIGGEST addition to our Christmas decor is on the outside!  It's simple but this is our first year to decorate outdoors - it only took me eleven years to convince Tyler.  I told him I didn't think I could love him anymore - but I've been proved wrong.
A very talented co-worker made us this Santa and reindeer cutout.  He said he was over 40 hours of labor in it.  Once we added it in the yard, that's when "the Grinch" himself said he might add lights to the house... I was shocked, y'all.  The little cowboys helped him put the lights up this Sunday.  It made my heart smile.
These two little cowboys are the reason we do it all.
I hope you have enjoyed our tour.  Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.
We've completed one full week with Howie, our Elf on the Shelf, in the house and it's been a lot of fun.  Post coming soon!
